Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Chartering Contract Manager to join their team in Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in the maritime industry, with a strong background in contract management and a comprehensive understanding of legal principles related to chartering agreements. An excellent command of English is essential for this role, and a degree in maritime law is considered a valuable asset.

Description

  • Negotiate terms and conditions of charter contracts with ship owners or charterers to ensure favorable terms for their company.
  • Organize the start and end of contracts, with all departments concerned. Ensure that the vessel is commissioned as quickly as possible, in collaboration with the various departments,
  • Responsible of the management of the contract,
  • Provide assistance regarding Request For Proposal.
  • Responsible of all aspects of vessel chartering activities, ensure profitable employment of managed/operated vessels, time charter-in tonnage.
  • Monitor market conditions and rates for the industry through all appropriate means.
  • Develop and implement chartering strategies to provide integrated services that meets clients' requirements and optimize contract performance.
  • Conduct background checks on charters and/or owners to ensure conformity with company standards in all aspects of the contract.
  • Prepare regular and periodic reports/reviews (including Sale & Purchase and competitors)
  • Assist in organizing operational matters or activities as and when required.

Profile

  • Degree in Law, a degree in Maritime Law would be a strong asset.
  • 3-7 years of experience in chartering, contract management, or a related role within the maritime industry.
  • Excellent command (written and oral) of the English, French is a strong asset.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of legal principles and regulations governing maritime contracts.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and make informed decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Computer literacy, including use of MS Office; (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
